Nightingale is pleased to facilitate communication between Deaf and Hearing individuals by providing Certified Interpreters. Members of the Deaf community prefer a “live” interpreter – the most convenient, reliable, and accurate means of exchanging information with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
The Nightingale Interpreters
- Are trained to listen, hear, and understand another person’s words, inflections and intent and render them into the visual language of signs using the mode of communication preferred by the Deaf person.
- Understand the cultures in which they work and apply that knowledge to promote effective cross-cultural communications.
- Go out of their way to be helpful, courteous, and supportive and they are always prepared to ensure the communication is Deaf friendly.
These services can be provided using social distancing communications, either in person wearing masks, washing hands or utilize Video Remote Interpreting.
